About Me

Hi, I’m Pat Leslie and I’m a scholar of political science and research methods. I am a research fellow at the Australian National University’s School of Politics and International Relations, where I also teach research methods and comparative politics. This website is a central space for my publications, working papers, data and my curriculum vitae.

While I have a broad track record of applied research, my current research agenda focuses on the study of political elites and how institutions motivate and constrain their behaviour. I am working on the quantitative analysis of speech and debate, class distinction and descriptive representation, power networks in parliamentary parties, measuring the quality of legislation, and judicial selection and ideology.
